“The ironic scene of media treating the terrifying and sad events of wars happening on the other side
of the world almost like advertisements makes me question whether what I see and hear is truly ‘real.’ It also leads me to imagine what genuine stories I can tell on my own within the context of the information that media unilaterally provides”

Unfortunately, when I think of ‘Tinker Bell,’ the first image that comes to mind is a blonde fairy in a green mini dress. Even though I know that in the original story, Tinker Bell was a tiny firefly-like being, no other image comes to mind first. The fact that my imagination is somewhat limited by media’s influence used to make me infinitely upset. However, now I think it’s wonderful that Disney has created such beautiful Tinker Bell artwork and that we live in an era where we can see such good references. Although the overwhelming number of images in media can be confusing, I’ve decided to accept it as a benefit of living in this era. Instead of forcibly restricting myself, I contemplate how to use this common limitation, shared by many people today, to convey my own unique message.
